Peach Lassi

Peach-Lassi

April and May are peach season in these parts.  We have a local farm a few miles away that has the most AMAZING peaches ripe for picking and I make it a priority to go every year.  That leaves me with pounds of fresh peaches to use up (which isn’t a bad problem to have).  Other than the obvious eating them straight I like to find new and delicious ways to incorporate these sweet and juicy peaches into my day.

Peach Lassi 2

I usually make crisp, ice cream, or use them in overnight oats but this time I made a Peach Lassi with probiotic yogurt (cuz you know I love my fermented foods!).  I know that lassi is traditionally made with mango but when you have peaches coming out of your ears you do what you have to do to make it work.  Feel free to use any fruit that is in season around your neck of the woods.

Peach Lassi

This recipe is also the perfect opportunity to add some of my turmeric dust to the mix and show you how else you can incorporate this magical sweet seasoning to your recipes.  In the winter months when fruit isn’t very seasonal I plan on using my favorite frozen fruit to keep my turmeric game on point.
